Sustainable management is of social interest
The new cycle of the Common Agricultural Policy, starting next year and lasting until 2027, has been designed in such a way that, thanks to higher national co-financing, within the rural development subsidies, Hungary allocates four and a half times the resources for economic development purposes, and double the resources for green purposes and measures supporting the transfer of knowledge, announced Zsolt Feldman at the BASF sustainability conference.
At the event, the Secretary of State responsible for agriculture and rural development of the Ministry of Agriculture emphasized at the event that today agriculture has to face the dilemma and find a solution, how to reconcile the European society’s need for food production in a sustainable way with the continuous, affordable price for more and more people. food must be provided. At the Gödöllő event of one of the largest chemical companies present in Hungary, Zsolt Feldman indicated, in addition to the necessary coordination of the two aspects, that sustainable farming from an environmental point of view requires much more complex knowledge, and moreover, the increasingly strict regulations and the associated higher administrative burdens are more difficult for smaller farmers to handle . New technologies and solutions developed at technological companies and research institutes are not automatically utilized in the economy, they must be introduced and accepted in practice day by day by those engaged in agricultural production, therefore even greater emphasis must be placed on the transfer of knowledge in the new cycle of the Common Agricultural Policy – drew the attention of the state secretary.
