When buying cleaning equipment, value for money is more important than brand and reliability, according to a survey
Value for money is the most important consideration among Hungarians when purchasing household cleaning equipment. This is the primary consideration for half of those surveyed. When purchasing such equipment, efficiency and quality were identified as important factors by 15 percent of respondents, while brand and reliability are important for less than 9 percent, according to a survey commissioned by the cleaning technology company Kärcher.
According to the analysis, sustainability considerations are currently less influential on the decision: energy and water consumption data are decisive for only 6 percent of those participating in the research when purchasing, while sustainability and environmental friendliness are only important for 3 percent.
According to a survey commissioned by Kärcher and conducted by research company Momentor, although there are many machines for household purposes available in stores, customers are currently choosing more traditional solutions.
A representative survey conducted in March of 1,000 people revealed that 70 percent of respondents use a traditional vacuum cleaner to keep their home clean, while a robot vacuum cleaner is found in only one in ten households. However, the cleaning tool most people use is not the vacuum cleaner, but the mop, which is used regularly by nearly 90 percent.
In addition to the traditional vacuum cleaner, more modern machines are also appearing in more and more Hungarian households: a quarter of respondents have a standing vacuum cleaner, and 15 percent also use a wet-dry machine. According to the data, the younger generation is more open to new devices: for example, 32.1 percent of 18-29 year olds own a standing vacuum cleaner.
In the garden, more than 60 percent of respondents use a lawnmower, but when hand tools are taken into account, the rake is more widespread, with almost 70 percent of respondents using it. Among the machines, a third of households own both an edger and a chainsaw, about a quarter use a hedge trimmer, while slightly more than 15 percent also use a high-pressure washer.
