Takarékbank: Hungarian food and agriculture is characterized by cautious confidence

Hopeful beginning of the year in Hungarian agriculture and food industry
Hollósi Dávid, Managing Director of Takarékbank’s agricultural business, emphasized that compared to the third quarter of 2021, the prospects of producers improved by the end of last year. According to him, the largest emitter of Hungarian agriculture, field crop production, closed a good year due to high grain prices, and if price levels do not decrease, good profitability will remain even at higher costs. At the same time, the increase in the price of raw materials will have a negative effect on profitability, as the price of fertilizers, for example, has risen to unprecedented levels, and the purchase of seeds and pesticides is also becoming more and more expensive.
