Tabula rasa
The political decision to grant 60 percent of European Union funding to the SME sector – instead of the previous period’s 16 percent – creates a rare opportunity for the strategically important food sector. If we use this resource well, we can make incredible progress.
But let’s not forget that EU funding and low interest rate loans aren’t enough: we need to have a coherent series of measures as well. The state has to guarantee the firm economic background and cut red tape. We need a completely new corporate culture that is based on cooperation, loyalty and reliability. We have to start thinking in the long run instead of the present short-term profit maximising tactics. Let’s not forget about the role of the individual either: Hungarians are socialised in a way that only those can be successful who are ‘smart’. Smart as in tax evading, taking no responsibility, etc. If we want to use this big chance well, we got to start over with a tabula rasa.Related news
