Grape harvest on Tokaj-Hegyalja
The grape harvest on Tokaj-Hegyalja has been started with the harvest of the muscat grape, which is the earliest exposure grape. On the historic wine region, about 35 thousand tonnes of harvest are expected by the farmers.
The largest purchaser of wine region, the state-owned Tokaj Trading House Zrt. pays 60 HUF for a kilogram of Yellow Muscat. The remaining early grapes prize is 55 HUF. One thousand tonne of muscat can be brought to the press houses. The Trading House is linked to about two thousand producers, and planning to take over a total of 9.5 thousand tonnes of grapes from them, in this season – reports MTI Eco.
