SZTNH: at the forefront of Hungarian protection companies among the most successful Hungarian companies
Almost 31,000 industrial property rights applications are related to the largest Hungarian companies, but 97 percent of them are related to only 5 companies, according to a recent study by the National Office of Intellectual Property (SZTNH). The economic interest of these companies can be demonstrated in 114 countries. Chemical companies, including pharmaceutical companies, are the most active in industrial property rights, the agency said in a statement released Thursday.
Between 2015 and 2019, the Hungarian companies producing the 100 largest gross value added (TOP100) filed a total of almost 22,000 patent applications. A total of 8,800 applications have been filed by companies to identify the origin of their products and services, while only 37 have applied for design protection. (MTI)
