Power in cooperatives: awards were handed over on the occasion of the International Day of Cooperatives

The awards founded by the ÁFEOSZ-COOP Federation were handed over ceremonially on the occasion of the International Day of Cooperatives. The significance of the traditional ceremony was confirmed by the fact that the UN enunciated year 2012 as the International Year of Cooperatives.

Dr. Zs. Szőke Zoltán, the President of the COOP ÁFEOSZ Federation spoke about the long standing of the cooperative values in his festive greetings. He emphasized that the decision of the United Nations (UN)  to enunciate 2012 as the International Year of Cooperatives was the right decision, because in this context, the worldwide upcoming events will manage to turn the attention of the governments and politicians that much power lies in cooperation and great success can be achieved with collaboration. He added that one billion people is the part of some cooperations, which is a very important aspect of economic policy.
