The current meeting is a new stage in the cooperation between the two organizations that was formally launched in 2021, and they intend to strengthen the cooperation in order to effectively handle legal issues affecting the agriculture and food sector.
The MJE is a long-standing professional organization of Hungarian lawyers, dedicated to the cultivation of legal science and the development of domestic legal life, with a nationwide network of county organizations
During its activities, it supports the dissemination of legal practice problems and legal innovation. The association also cooperates with the Ministry of Justice, the Constitutional Court, the legal professional associations and the law faculties of universities. Its members exceed four thousand. NAK’s task is to strengthen the domestic agricultural and food sector, enforce its interests, support the competitiveness of Hungarian food, provide expert advice, and provide fast, accurate and reliable information to farmers.
NAK and MJE signed a cooperation agreement in 2021
Based on this, the two organizations wanted to establish closer cooperation in order to effectively handle legal issues affecting agriculture and the food sector. This visit also served this purpose. During the meeting, Zsolt György Papp raised the possibility of strengthening the training of agricultural and land law professionals, in which both organizations could take an active role in the future. László Trócsányi, as president of MJE and rector of Károli Gáspár Reformed University, agrees that the special legal environment affecting the farming community requires the presence of professionals skilled in agricultural law in the sector. The MJE and the NAK plan to provide assistance in this in the future by encouraging professional training. In order to achieve the common goal, they plan to bring together domestic agricultural law experts and initiate discussions on future opportunities as a first step. In order to deepen cooperation, the two organizations attach great importance to joint professional events and the publication of professional publications.
