The Christmas market opens on Saturday at the Town Hall Square in Vienna
The Christmas market opens next Saturday at the Rathausplatz (Town Hall Square) in Vienna. The Christmas tree of the fair arrived ito the Austrian capital on Tuesday.
The 28-meter-high and 140-year-old tree this year, came from the the South Tyrolean Oberolang settlement to Vienna. The fair dresses into festive lights on November 15, when the market opens in front of the city hall in Vienna. The event begins Saturday afternoon at 5:30 pm with the participation of Vienna’s Mayor Michael Häupl and the South Tyrolean Provincial Leader Arno Kompatscher. Amost a thousand energy-saving LED bulb will light up the Christmas tree. (MTI)
