Sprouts caused the disease?
A new suspect had been added to the blacklist of bacterias causing the E. coli epidemic started in Germany.
According to the statement of the German epidemiological center, a locally-grown sprouts spread the fatal disease that caused the 29 deaths.
“It has been bean sprouts” – said Reinhard Burger, head of the German epidemiological center, the Robert Koch Institute. Those who ate bean sprouts, nine times more likely to be ill than those who did not – he explained – reports Világgazdaság Online.
