Software to speed up shopping
Through its JLab programme, UK retail chain John Lewis supported the work of start-up Localz with GBP 100,000 last year, so that parcels from online orders are delivered faster and shopping is sped up in stores too. Smartphone apps of the micro location technology specialist identify customers as they are approaching the store and assist in in-store navigation too. The new system’s test run started in a Central London store and if the pilot is successful, it will be extended to all 43 John Lewis and 336 Waitrose shops.
