Slovenian Tourist Board: some tourist destinations are inaccessible
Some tourist destinations in Slovenia have become inaccessible due to severe floods, so the Slovenian Tourist Board recommends that everyone check the destination’s website, social media channels, and talk to their accommodation provider before leaving.
The office’s statement to MTI on Tuesday highlighted that most of the country has not suffered serious damage and remains open to guests and visitors, however, some areas are still inaccessible and road and rail connections have been cut in some places.
Among the most affected places are Medvode, Kamnik and Velika Planina, Komenda, Idrija, Ziri, Skofja Loka in central Slovenia. In the area of Alpine Slovenia, Koroska, parts of the Upper Savinja Valley (Luce, Solcava, Ljubno ob Savinji, Gornji Grad, Nazarje, Recica ob Savinji, Mozirje, Polzela). Certain areas of the Mura region are also affected, as the Mura river also flows.
It is not possible to visit Velika Planina, Kamnik, Skofja Loka, the entire Upper Savinjska Valley (Solcava, Luce, Ljubno, Nazarje, Mozirje, Gornji Grad), Koroska (Crna na Koroskem, Prevalje, Mezica, Dravograd) and Koroska Bela , as well as places along the Mura river – they wrote.
