Industrial production in Slovakia continued to decline
Industrial production in Slovakia continued to decline in November, both on an annual and monthly basis, according to statistics released by the Slovak Statistical Office (SÚSR) on Friday.
According to statistical data, in November last year, Slovak industrial production fell by 4.5 percent on an annual basis. The data show an accelerating trend in the decline of industrial production, as in October the production decrease was 3.8 percent on an annual basis. The decline in industrial production was almost continuous throughout the year, with figures falling in nine of the first eleven months of the year.
Slovak industrial production fell in eleven of the 15 segments tracked by statistics in November compared to the same period a month earlier, compared to only seven sectors. Annual production growth was shown in only four sectors, but these did not have a significant impact on the overall industrial production figures
– the Slovak Statistical Office announced.
The biggest negative impact on Slovak industrial production in the period under review was the 19 percent annual decline in the electricity and gas transmission sector. A significant decline was also recorded in automotive manufacturing, where production fell by 7 percent in November, the largest drop since March 2024.
Appreciable production growth was experienced in metal production, where the annual expansion was 5 percent in November, and in chemical production, where the increase was 20 percent.
