Syrian-owned Biotech opens new plant in Hungary
Syrian-owned Biotech on Thursday inaugurated an almost 2,000sqm medical implants plant in Diósd, near Budapest, employing about a hundred people at the moment (200-250 soon though), and annual revenue could climb to HUF 5bn in 2011.
Biotech develops and manufactures orthopedic implants. The plant's Syrian owner Alkaysi Ghazi, who lives in Hungary, cut the ribbon at the ceremony together with state secretary at the National Economy Ministry Balázs Botos. Syrian Deputy-Prime Minister Abdullah Al-Dardari was also present.
Construction of the plant was supported with HUF 63m in European Union funding.
