Growth in the private sector in the euro area almost stopped in November
Growth in the private sector in the euro area came to a complete halt in November as the dominant service sector expanded much less than expected, and the manufacturing industry continued its recession – according to the data of IHS Markit, published on Friday.
The euro area Manufacturing Purchasing Manager Index rose to 46.6 points from the 45.9 points in October. Analysts expected a slight improvement of 46.4 points.
The Service Industry Purchasing Manager Index slid from 51.2 points in October to a low of 51.5 points. Analysts expected a rise of 52.5 points. (MTI)
