There will also be theater performances in Puzsér’s cultural café
Róbert Puzsér, who until now was primarily known to the public as a critic, radio host and political opinion maker, tried himself in a new field: he opened the Inga Kultúrkávézó in Budapest. Inga serves as a café, a cultural center, a theater venue and a gallery at the same time. The institution is located on the corner of Ferenc körút and Tűzoltó utca, which is one of the important locations of the 1956 revolution. The cafe hosts cultural events and will also serve as the site of Szélsőközép’s YouTube channel, according to the interview given to Pénzcentrum.
According to Puzsér, the prices of the performances will vary: the price of cultural programs can range from 1,000 to 2,500 forints, while the ticket price of theater performances will be around 5,000 to 6,000 forints. Theater performances are not uploaded to the Internet, while other programs are also uploaded to YouTube.
The opening took longer than expected, as the renovation was mainly carried out by activists. Puzsér emphasized that the property was in poor condition and required serious investments. Although the renovation cost a lot, due to the favorable rent, there is no fear that the place will go bankrupt. The operation of Inga was financed entirely by the private capital of the owners, and there are no plans to involve external investors.
Puzsér admits that hospitality is a difficult field, especially with the current labor shortage and high wages. At the same time, he is not worried, since Inga primarily functions as a cultural center. And the revenues are reinvested in the maintenance and development of the place. He plans to produce more content for the Szélsőközép channel, and in addition to “Szélsőközép” “Daddy drinks because you cry!” series too
