Our country orders strict controls for grains coming from Ukraine
The Hungarian government protects Hungarian producers against the inaction of Brussels, which is why our country orders strict quality and food chain safety checks for grains coming from Ukraine, said István Nagy, Minister of Agriculture.

The head of the ministry explained, time and time again, it is always proven that Hungarian farmers can only count on the Hungarian government, that Brussels does not hear the voice of European farmers. We cannot let Hungarian farmers suffer because a solidarity corridor does not work properly. The head of the ministry emphasized that he will order very strict quality control in the case of grains coming from Ukraine to Hungary. István Nagy stated that they will continue to provide all help and support so that the grain reaches its original destination, the consumers in Africa and the Middle East. However, all food chain safety rules are observed with the grain that arrives on the Hungarian market and is subject to strict control. He also drew attention to the fact that Hungarian businesses using Ukrainian grain are directly responsible for using only grain that complies with EU and domestic regulations. The food chain safety authority will also examine this statutory basic responsibility. He added that the current situation is unsustainable, as grain sales in Hungary and throughout Europe have stopped.
This is the problem of countries involved in grain production
The minister also touched on the fact that Hungary, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania and Bulgaria did not accidentally turn to the European Commission to take immediate measures to curb grain imports from Ukraine. Imported crops produced under much less strict production conditions drive down prices, causing a significant competitive disadvantage for farmers in countries neighboring Ukraine. However, Brussels does not help and continues to do nothing to eliminate the competitive disadvantage of Hungarian farmers.
