József Szigetvári will join PortfoLion Capital Partners, a venture and private equity fund manager belonging to the OTP Group, as a Venture Partner from February, where he will support the growth and international expansion of PortfoLion’s current and future portfolio companies with his decades of experience and expertise.

József Szigetvári has managed an online media portfolio in the last two decades, built an internationally successful e-commerce business and participated in the management of the largest industry organizations. As CEO of Szallas Group, until a year ago, he managed the dominant player in the Central and Eastern European accommodation booking market for more than a decade and took an active role in implementing the group’s international expansion strategy. He not only participated in the preparation of the acquisition of Szallas Group, but also implemented the acquisition and integration of local players in several European countries under his leadership, so the company successfully competed with the largest global accommodation booking sites as a regional player. “The buy-and-build strategy implemented at Szallas Group is also a central element of PortfoLion’s investment philosophy, and Józsi’s experience in transferring it to other companies and industries is invaluable,” emphasized András Molnár, CEO of PortfoLion.

“Our goal is not only to provide capital to portfolio companies, but also to create all the conditions essential for growth as a partner. Industry experts play a key role in this, who, with their deeper market knowledge and operational experience, provide even more complex support to businesses.”

– added András Molnár. The venture partner role in international capital investment practice means involving experienced professionals who, with their industry knowledge, network and operational experience, help the work of investment funds and the development of their portfolio companies. Venture partners often act as intermediaries between the investment fund and companies, supporting company building, growth strategy, and acquisition opportunities.
