Cigarette prices to increase in September
As a result of the EU regulation, a pack of cigarettes will cost 30-40 forints more from September, and in January and July 2019, the excise tax on tobacco products will also rise – Világgazdaság Online wrote.
Excise duty paid after tobacco products amounted to 284.7 billion forints last year, after the 297.3 billion forints of 2016. In addition, only the excise tax paid on fuel became higher: 615.7 billion forints in 2016 and 645.6 billion forints in 2017. (vg.hu, Gyöngyösi Balázs)
