The digital SZÉP card will be available from September – the limit will also increase
The changes announced last year in the use of SZÉP cards will come into effect from September 1st of this year: all cards must also work digitally, and the annual limit amount that can be given will increase.
According to the new regulation, the SZÉP card can only be used at acceptance points with an electronic terminal, which makes transactions simpler and more transparent. The limit amount will also be increased: instead of the previous 450 thousand forints, employees can now receive 570 thousand forints annually.
According to K&H Bank data, the population is open to the digital transition: by the end of August, nearly 21 thousand cards had been digitized, the turnover carried out with them exceeded 100 million forints in July, and this year, the total has already reached 500 million forints. The number of acceptance points has also increased, with more than 3,600 new points having joined since January, so the card can now be used in 46 thousand places in the K&H network.
“Customers already use the SZÉP card as an everyday bank card via their mobile phone or smartwatch, and the autumn changes are expected to further strengthen this trend,”
said Ildikó Oraveczné Németh, Head of Retail and SME Marketing at K&H Bank.
The aim of the digital transition is to make the SZÉP card a truly modern, convenient and secure payment instrument – and for employees, the increased credit limit will provide further help in their everyday lives.
