In September, inflation continued to decrease in the Czech Republic
Annual inflation in the Czech Republic dropped to 6.9 percent in September from 8.5 percent in August, the Czech Statistical Office announced on Tuesday in Prague.
In the Czech Republic, the rate of inflation has been slowing for eight months now, and the September inflation rate is the lowest since December 2021.
In a monthly comparison, prices were 0.7 percent lower in September than in August.
Household expenses continued to have the greatest influence on the year-on-year price increase, followed by the prices of food and soft drinks.
Inflation is still considered high in the Czech Republic, despite the eight-month decrease. Moreover, from February 1922 to June this year, it hovered above ten percent. Previously, inflation above ten percent was last measured in July 1998 – explained Pavla Sedivá, director of the statistical office, at his press conference.
