The excise tax on tobacco products will increase from 1 September
The excise tax on tobacco products will increase from 1 September based on the new Law on Excise Duties approved by parliament in June – portfolio.hu wrote.
The cigarette’s tax remains 15 700 HUF per thousand, the 25 percent of the retail selling price, but at least 28 400 HUF per thousand – instead of the previous 28 000 HUF per thousand.
The tax on cigars and cigarillos in September will be still 14 percent of the retail price, but the tax per thousand will increase from 4,000 HUF to to at least 4060 HUF. (MTI, portfolio.hu)
