István Nagy drew attention: the Ministry of Agriculture is committed to ensuring that agricultural vocational training keeps pace with the changing world and provides real, modern knowledge to young people. In this spirit, the vocational training system has been transformed, dual training has been introduced, the modernization of agricultural vocational training centers and educational institutions has begun, and the development of teaching farms has begun – the Minister listed. István Nagy pointed out that as a result, young people can now master the profession with the most modern technologies and modern tools. He highlighted that the government has provided 15.5 billion forints for the Demonstration Plant Support application announced in the Rural Development Program. He said about the mentoring program that it offers an opportunity in which young people gain modern practical knowledge, get involved in production, and can count on the support of the professional community right from the beginning of their careers. He called the program an exemplary initiative that provides an answer to one of the most important agricultural challenges, generational change. The minister emphasized that generational change is not just a plan, but a living, working process in the Hungarian countryside, which is also supported by the government. He highlighted that the institution is the only horticultural high school in Szentes and its surroundings, which both preserves professional tradition and provides young people with modern, practice-oriented training. István Nagy announced that the Ministry of Agriculture is supporting the school’s further developments with 1.33 billion forints. The goal is clear: we must ensure the supply of horticultural professionals and strengthen a career path that is built on knowledge, work and a predictable future, the minister stressed. He added: agriculture is one of the most important professions, therefore every initiative that strengthens agricultural training, supports the transfer of knowledge and educates future professionals serves the common future.

Sándor Nagypéter, President and CEO of DélkerTÉSZ, highlighted that the horticultural society is aging and there is a need for innovative, development-capable producers

He reported that an experimental garden was created with the mentoring program in the practice garden of the Bartha János School, where practical education can be renewed and it provides students with the opportunity to learn about the most modern cultivation methods. József Horváth, the director general of the Alföld Agricultural Vocational Training Center, said that the school is working for the future of horticulture and for the gardeners of the future. The goal is to continue growing healthy vegetables in fifty years, which can supply half the country, he added. At the event, Sándor Farkas, former parliamentary state secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and the region’s Fidesz MP, presented the award for the rise of the countryside to István Nagy, the Minister of Agriculture. After the event, the developments to date were ceremoniously handed over in the tank garden of the János Bartha school.
