According to their information, Fitodry Gyógy- és Fűszernövény Feldolgozó Kft. took care of the withdrawal of the product called Fitodry Citromfű leaf 100 g from the market, as well as its recall from consumers, in cooperation with the authority. Dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane (DDT) was found in the product, which – according to the announcement – is classified as a persistent pollutant of environmental origin and usually does not come from direct spraying, but enters the plants and the food chain from soil and water pollution caused by past use. Accumulated DDT can be toxic, carcinogenic and disrupt the hormonal system in the long term.
