Selective waste collection: people declared themselves more eco-conscious than in reality
Only 18-20 percent of the plastic bottles are collected selectively in Hungary, even though 75 percent of the population is aware of environmental problems resulting from the PET bottles.
According to the July survey of ÖKO-Pannon Nonprofit Ltd.; the three-quarters of respondents believe that plastic bottles mostly bound the environment. In the survey the participants declared themselves environmentally conscious than in reality. 82.4 percent of the asked stated that they are involved in the different ways of selective waste collecting, but only 18-20 percent of PET bottles return into the selective waste collecting channels – reports MTI Eco.
