Hundred million HUF fine for Penny Market
The company gave false information on special prices and on discount rates. According to the Economic Competition Authority it was a system-level anomaly.
The Economic Competition Authority investigated the period between 3rd August and 11th October 2008. In a number of cases consumers had to pay more than it was advertised by special papers, posters and the print media. According to the Economic Competition Authority this was not a specific problem, but rather a system error, which could happened at any time, in any business, with any special priced product – reports origo.hu.
