BioTech USA investment program creates 100 new jobs

One hundred new jobs have been created thanks to BioTech USA’s latest investment program of approximately 9.5 billion forints, which clearly demonstrates how much domestic companies have been able to strengthen despite all difficulties – Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó announced on Wednesday in Szadá.

In his speech, he praised BioTech USA, calling it a great achievement that the family-owned company has now become a world-renowned brand and one of the largest dietary supplement manufacturers in Europe, exporting its products to more than a hundred countries and directly employing around two thousand people in our country.

He explained that the company’s operations also contributed greatly to the fact that unemployment in Pest County has been halved over the past ten years, while industrial production has increased from 2,500 billion forints to 7,000 billion forints per year.

Péter Szijjártó then touched on the crises of the past decade and a half, and welcomed the fact that despite all these difficulties, the actors of the Hungarian economy were capable of very serious feats.

“I consider it such a feat that despite Covid and the war, which led to layoffs throughout the world economy, there are now one million more people in Hungary work than ten years ago. I consider it such a feat that in European comparison, the taxes that burden labor are the lowest in Hungary today”

– he listed.

“But it is also such a feat that, despite all kinds of senseless price increases in the international energy market, we have not only managed to build, but also defend the reduction of utility costs in Hungary, no matter what attacks it may face legally or politically” – he continued.

He then warned that such a In a fragile period, hard-won results could easily be jeopardized, for example, due to the escalation of the war in neighboring Ukraine.

The minister finally pointed out that the past four years, despite the negative environment, were the most successful period in economic history in terms of investments in Hungary.

“Never have so many investments been made in Hungary, never have so many factories been built in Hungary, never have companies created so many jobs in Hungary as in these four years”

– he said.

“This is largely due to those “also for Hungarian-owned companies, the strengthening of which I believe is one of the greatest feats in terms of the recent economic policy strategy” – he underlined.

Minister of Culture and Innovation Balázs Hankó spoke at the event about the fact that the Hungarian government is currently spending 340 billion forints on innovation.

Today, every third Hungarian company in Hungary is innovating – he said – and the government would like us to reach the point where every second Hungarian company is innovating.

He pointed out that Hungary has won the gold medal in Europe in the field of robotization and robotics, which helps us to ensure that qualified workers can take on jobs here in the region as well.

BioTech USA’s developments are an example of how if we Hungarians want something, we can achieve it – he emphasized.
