Asda Introduces Blueberries In 100% Recyclable Punnets
UK retailer Asda has announced that it has rolled out blueberries in a fully recyclable punnet with a film lid.
The innovative packaging will allow customers to recycle the whole tray along with the lid.
The initiative will see the retailer recycling around 5.5 million film lids each year, Asda added.
Asda also plans to test the packaging on other fresh produce items such as grapes and tomatoes.
The initiative will make recycling easier for customers and save around 110 million lids per year, the retailer said.
