A hundred hectares of vines were damaged by hail in the Tokaj-Hegyalja region
The hail damaged a hundred hectares of vines on Tuesday afternoon in the Tokaj-Hegyalja region. The damages can cost several tens of million HUFs to the farmers – Csoma Ernő, president of Tolcsvai mountain village told MTI on Wednesday.
As he described, the intense downpour lasted about half an hour, mostly peas, and cherry-sized ice fell for 10 – 15 minutes, there is a vineyard that is almost completely damaged.
As he said, the largest damages were in the viccinioty of Tolcsva and Sárazsadány. It is almost sure that harvest had to cancelled there this year and there is concern that next year's crop is in jeopardy because the sprouts were also beaten by the ice. (MTI)
