Fondants for six billion
Fondants are to be sold in the value of HUF 6 billion in the 4-5 weeks before Christmas. 821 tonnes of Christmas figures worth HUF 2.2 billion and accounting for 50 percent of annual chocolate sales will also be sold in this period. Demand for seasonal sweets is exceptionally high in Hungary, even in comparison with highly developed markets. Consumer preferences have shifted towards higher quality in the last eighteen months, which translates to increased demand for well known brands and chocolate figures with a high cocoa content. 1.7 kilos of fondants per household are expected to be sold this season.
