Real Nature Trio Hummus Eastern products recalled due to salmonella risk
Three batches affected – if you have one of these at home, do not consume it!
Real Nature Kft. has issued a product recall for its Real Nature Trio Hummus Keleti 210g product due to a suspected salmonella contamination. The recall is being carried out in cooperation with the Hungarian Food Chain Safety Authority (Nébih), and the manufacturer has already begun withdrawing the affected items from stores.
These hummus batches are affected:
Consumers are urged not to consume the following products:
-
Best before: 16.04.2025 – LOT number: 070
-
Best before: 01.05.2025 – LOT number: 085
-
Best before: 14.05.2025 – LOT number: 098
If you have purchased a hummus product with any of these LOT numbers and expiry dates, please return it to the place of purchase for a full refund, or dispose of it safely. Do not eat it, even if it looks or smells normal.
What happens to the recalled products?
Real Nature Kft. is handling the recall and will ensure that all returned products are either destroyed or safely removed from the supply chain. The process is being monitored closely by the relevant food safety authority.
What is salmonella and why is it dangerous?
Salmonella is a type of bacteria that can cause serious food poisoning, especially in vulnerable groups such as children, the elderly, and immunocompromised individuals. Symptoms may include diarrhea, vomiting, fever, and abdominal cramps.
Not sure about your product? Play it safe.
If you’re unsure whether your hummus is affected, check the “best before” date and LOT number on the packaging. If it matches one of the above, do not take any risks – discard it or return it to the store.
