Hotel Association: hotels in Budapest are cheap in a regional comparison
The performance of Budapest was good in terms of room occupacy, but despite the high hotel room occupancy, in average prices, Budapest is only on the 28th on the list out of the tested 31cities – shows the 2012 January-April evaluation of the Hungarian Association of Hotels and Restaurants (MSZÉSZ).
According to the lastest analysis of the STR Global tourism market research company, in April, Budapest was on the 15th place in terms of room occupancy, with 70.2 percent. Despite the high hotel room occupancy, the average room price was only a net 63.2 euros and in terms of RevPAR (revenue per hotel room) Budapest was only the 26th with a net 44.3 euros. (MTI)
