Hotel Association: the Hungarian hotel industry is lagging behind in the region

However, the performance has improved in the Hungarian hotels in September, but according to the datas of the first nine months of the year, Hungarian hotels surpassed only the performance of the Slovakian hotels among the five Central and Eastern European countries – the Hungarian Association of Hotels and Restaurants told MTI on Wednesday.

The anaylsis was carried out by the STR Global tourism market research company. According to the analysis, the Hungarian hotels in terms of room occupancy in January-September was on the fourth place with 64.5 percent, in case of net average room rate Hungary was on the fifth place with 59.6 euros, on the base of REVPAR Hungary was on the fourth place with 38.4 euros – ahead of Slovakia. Among the five Central and Eastern European countries – Austria, the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia – the hotels in Austria had the best performance in the first three quarters. (MTI)
