Number of quarters: declining number of nights
Compared to the 2005 figures, in the first eight months of 2006 commercial lodgings accounted for a 3% drop in the number of person nights spent. The national Statistics Office (KSH) data indicate that the return on commercial lodgings grew by 5% in the same period. Guests arriving from countries that are most important for Hungary’s tourism (Germany, Italy, Hollnad, Great Britain and Austria) spent 3-17% less nights in the country, while the number of nights spent by American tourists grew by 8%.
