Szallas.hu: Lake Balaton is popular among domestic travelers even in winter

According to the accommodation booking site, the most popular in the lake area are Siófok, Hévíz, Keszthely, Balatonfüred and Balatonkenese.

Demand shifts compared to autumn, with guests looking for accommodation with catering and amenities in a higher proportion during the winter period. Interest in four- and five-star hotels is growing, as are the rates of all-inclusive, half-board and full board, they reported.

According to data from Szallas.hu, 49 percent of winter bookings in Lake Balaton are worth between 70,000 and 170,000 forints. The proportion of bookings up to 70 thousand forints is 22 percent, bookings between 170-270 thousand forints are 17 percent, while bookings over 270 thousand forints are 12 percent.

According to the announcement, the national booking top list is led by Budapest, Eger and Gyula, followed by Pécs, Siófok, Szeged, Hajdúszoboszló, Miskolc and Zalakaros. The share of hotels nationwide is 47 percent, apartments 22 percent, guesthouses 17 percent, pensions 10 percent, while other types of accommodation account for 4 percent.
