Szallas.hu: on New Year’s Eve, Eger, Gyula and Szeged are the most popular among domestic travelers
On New Year’s Eve, Eger, Gyula, Szeged, Budapest and Pécs are the most sought-after destinations among domestic travelers – Szallas.hu explained in a statement sent to MTI on Friday based on booking data.
The accommodation booking portal highlighted: this year, New Year’s Eve was the first place to be full during the festive period, and quite a few frequented wellness hotels were already full at the end of November. The average price per reservation is HUF 15,000 per person per night.
At such times, more people are looking for wellness offers and New Year’s Eve and holiday package offers, as well as program options, they added.
Regarding their expectations for next year, Tamás Szabó, Szallas.hu’s director responsible for Hungary and Croatia, explained in the announcement: the economic environment is expected to improve in 2024, which will result in stronger demand for travel. He indicated that there is an opportunity for further growth, that those who did not go on vacation this year due to financial considerations will do so next year.
