Szallas.hu: domestic tourism started to grow in the summer
This summer, nationally, gross room revenue increased by 17.5 percent compared to last year, and the number of reservations increased by 7.4 percent, according to data from Szallas.hu.
According to the latest analysis of the accommodation booking site, one night in summer cost an average of HUF 11,000 per person, which is 11.4 percent more than a year ago.
The gross room revenue increased by more than half compared to the pre-epidemic level. This was partly due to the increase in the number of reservations, by 15.2 percent compared to 2019. On average, a reservation was for 3 people and 2.6 nights.
The majority of vacationers (72.7 percent) chose non-hotel accommodation this summer. 29.6 percent slept in an apartment, 21.3 in a guest house, 15.4 in a boarding house, and 6.6 percent in other categories.
Lili Kelemen, the press spokesperson of Szallas.hu, said in the announcement: in the next period, they expect a further increase in demand for non-hotels, which is mainly caused by an increase in demand for lower prices, among other factors.
