Szallas.hu: the number of summer bookings has decreased
The number of domestic summer reservations made on Szallas.hu decreased by 15 percent compared to last year, the rate of decline compared to 2019, the year before the pandemic, was 3.7 percent, Szallas.hu told MTI on Wednesday.
The announcement highlighted that the number of guest nights fell by 17.7 percent compared to last year, and by 6.7 percent compared to 2019.
As a result of the price increases, the gross mediated room price income decreased by just over 3.5 percent compared to last year, they wrote.
The proportion of SZÉP card payments increased: last year, guests paid 22.9 percent of their summer reservations this way, and 23.2 percent this year.
Based on the bookings, the average price was HUF 12,000 per person per night, which is a 17 percent increase compared to last year.
This year, proportionally more people chose the 1-2 night stay: this category accounted for 57.7 percent of the summer reservations made on the portal, which was 56.2 percent last year and 56.5 percent in 2019.
The most popular settlement in 2023 was Siófok, followed by Budapest, Hajdúszoboszló, Eger, Gyula, Balatonfüred, Hévíz, Szeged, Pécs and Zalakaros.
