Szallas.hu: a quarter of domestic bookings in the autumn were paid with SZÉP cards
A quarter of the total value of online payments related to domestic bookings in the autumn was settled with the SZÉP card on the Szallas.hu website, which clearly shows the popularity of the card.
The announcement sent to MTI by the accommodation booking portal highlights that in the autumn, the Northern Great Plain, the Balaton and the Budapest-Central Danube region received the largest proportion of bookings among the tourist regions.
In the Northern Great Plain, Eger, Debrecen, Nyíregyháza, Hajdúszoboszló and Szilvásvárad were the most popular. Among the settlements of Lake Balaton, Siófok, Hévíz, Balatonfüred, Zalakaros and Keszthely attracted the most guests in the autumn period. The overall national list was topped by Budapest, Eger, Pécs, Szeged and Siófok.
A third of Szallas.hu’s autumn bookings were for hotels, a quarter for apartments, a fifth for guesthouses, 14 percent for pensions, and 8 percent chose other types of accommodation.
Lili Kelemen, Szallas.hu’s press spokesperson, explained in the statement: in 8 out of 10 autumn bookings, guests spent less than 100 thousand forints on accommodation, and three-quarters of the bookings were for 1-2 nights.
Although the wooden house category does not stand out in terms of booking volume compared to the others, seasonal interest in them is highest in autumn. Among those looking for this type of accommodation, Noszvaj, Geresdlak, Kismaros, Lovasberény and Tokaj were the most popular, according to Szallas.hu data.
