Szállás.hu: the backlog in domestic hotel reservations is the smallest in August
According to the data of Szallas.hu, among the summer months, August has the smallest decrease in domestic hotel reservations compared to last year, currently 7 percent fewer domestic reservations than a year ago. A third of the summer reservations are for two nights, a quarter for one night, and a fifth for three nights – the tourism portal announced the results of the latest survey with MTI on Thursday.
According to the information, the average price per person for one night on Lake Balaton is HUF 12,600, and at Lake Velence it is HUF 12,570. On the other hand, you can spend a night at Lake Tisza for a 25.6 percent cheaper price than the prices in Balaton, on average HUF 9,400 per person. Balaton is still the most popular, a third of Szallas.hu’s summer bookings go to the region. On the Szallas.hu website, only 1.2 percent of those planning to vacation on Lake Velencei, and 3.1 percent on Lake Tisza.
The popularity of apartments on Lake Balaton has increased, last year it accounted for 38 percent of summer bookings, and this year it reached 40 percent. The hotels were chosen every fourth booking in both years.
