Szallas.hu: in the Balaton area, Siófok, Balatonfüred, Hévíz, Balatonlelle, Keszthely are the most popular destinations among Hungarians
Based on the number of guest nights spent between June 1 and July 16, Siófok, Balatonfüred, Hévíz, Balatonlelle and Keszthely are the most popular destinations among Hungarians in the Lake Balaton area, Szallas.hu told MTI on Friday based on data from the accommodation portal.
In the period from June 1 to July 16, 59 percent of their guest nights in Balaton took place in the first two weeks of July, 41 percent in June. Among those choosing the Balaton area, apartment bookings were the most popular, accounting for almost half of the guest nights. Szallas.hu guests spent every fifth guest night in a hotel, but guesthouses (19 percent) and boarding houses (7 percent) were also in demand during the summer season so far.
In the announcement, they mentioned that Lake Tisza is also a popular summer destination among Hungarians. In the area, Tiszafüred, Poroszló, Abádszalók, Berekfürdő and Kisköre are the most attractive for accommodation seekers. 90 percent of guest nights around the lake were spent in these settlements. The most popular type of accommodation is the guest house, vacationers chose this option for more than half of the guest nights.
