Specialised stores up

Retail sales totalled 1.8 percent less in July 2008, than in July 2007. Retail sales were down by 0.1 percent compared to June. Retail sales totalled HUF 3,447 billion in the first seven months of 2008 and HUF 557 billion in July. Total sales of food retail units were down by 1.5 percent in the first seven months of 2008, compared to the same period in 2007. While sales in general stores were down by 1.6 percent in July compared to June, sales in specialised food, beverage and tobacco stores were up by 0.9 percent.
