Professional organizations: the production of the meat industry can only be increased with VAT reduction
According to the trade associations of the meat industry, without the decrease of the pig and poultry meat’s VAT to 5 percent the production of the meat and the poultry industry can not be increased, even staying alive is at risk.
The Livestock and Meat Interprofessional Organization and Marketing Board (VHT), the Hungarian Meat Industrialists Federation (Meat Association), and the Poultry Product Council (BTT) in their communication sent to MTI on Monday points out, that the level of the per capita pork consumption in the past two decades decreased from 40 kilogrammes to 25 kilogrammes in Hungary.
