Coop ended 2012 with professional recognitions
The CSR Hungary Award was founded in 2008 and rewards responsible and sustainable corporate initiatives. In 2012 Coop won the award in the ‘Common responsibility – common causes – sports and health’ category with its Olympic sponsorship programme. Coop’s ‘Let’s send a ‘Go Hungary!’ together’ series of events was a great success that turned into a nationwide movement. POPAI Hungary Association organised its POPAI Awards POP competition for the third time. In the ‘Durable POP Tools’ category the display ‘Coop Olympic totem with signature function’ finished third. POPAI Hungary president Ágnes Csiby told about the display how creative and attention-drawing it was, adding that its sophisticated realisation represented the high level and creativity of Hungary’s ‘Marketing at Retail’ trade really well. In December 2012 Coop won both the Business Superbrands (B2B) award and the classic consumer recognition Superbrands. Head of the Superbrands programme János Serényi told that 100-percent Hungarian-owned Coop achieved something special in the past few years; it has more than 30,000 employees and serves 1.5 million customers daily in 3,000 shops. In connection with the recognitions CO-OP Hungary Zrt. CEO László Murányi told that they were the success of each and every Coop employee.
