Experts: tourism grew significantly in January

After last year’s record, the growth of the Hungarian tourism has not slowed down in January. The number of domestic guest nights in hotels has risen most dynamically – Guller Zoltán, Managing Director of the Hungarian Tourism Agency (MTÜ) evaluated the latest statistical data to MTI on Tuesday. According to the hotel association, the two-digit rise in pre-season guest turnover is also outstanding.

The Central Statistical Office (KSH) said on Tuesday that tourism grew by 10.4 percent in January, the number of nights spent by foreign guests increased by 7.6 percent, while the number of domestic guest nights increased by 13.5 percent, compared to a year before. (MTI)
