Drought causes forty billion HUF damages each year
The drought causes about forty billion HUF damages everyyear in Hungary – Láng István, Technical Deputy Director General of the National Directorate of Water Resources told M1 news channel.
Láng István added that compared to this amount, the inland water causes 15, floods cause 10 billion HUF damages while local water damage about 1 billion HUF per year.
The reason of this differenceis mainly because the drought is a slow and protracted process and affect large areas – the expert explained. He added that in 2012 due to the extreme drought, the average value of loss was ten times more 400 billion HUF. (MTI)
