Romanian retail increased significantly
The volume of retail sales increased by 19 percent in Romania in the first quarter of 2016, compared with the same period of 2015 – the Romanian national statistical institute announced on Wednesday.
The increase was mainly due to the sales of foodstuffs, which grew by almost 28 percent. Non-food sales rose more than 16 percent, while fuel sales expanded at almost 10 percent. The working-day-adjusted volume of retail sales in the first quarter was 16.9 percent higher compared to last year's same period. (MTI)
