Sunday opening is free during the Olympics
The British government suspends the law banning Sunday opening hours in London during the summer Olympic and Paralympic Games.
According to the plans of the British Conservative-Liberal government coalition, from July 22, the law will be suspended for eight weeks for the entire duration of the Olympic and Paralympic games.
British finance minister George Osborne, told at BBC’s Sunday political magazine that it would be a “shame” if the country’s stores would be closed on Sunday, while the whole world will come to London for the Olympics.”
The British Ministry of Finance estimates that in the center of London 100 thousand more customer would spend their money on Sundays, if stores would be open for four hours longer than than now. (MTI)
