McDonald's moves to Switzerland
McDonald's is going to transfer its registered office from the United Kingdom to Switzerland, due to the more favorable tax rules, relating to intellectual property. The new center will be opened in Geneva, before the end of the year.
More recently, a number of other large companies have chosen Switzerland because of the more favorable tax conditions, such as Kraft, Procter & Gamble, Colgate-Palmolive, Yahoo! or Google.
According to the report of McDonald's, the Geneva Center will put together the senior management in several regions of Europe. Denis Hennequin, the European President of McDonald's will also move to new headquarters of Geneva.
According to a McDonald's spokesman, the decision will help to promote intellectual property licenses easier to European franchise partners – reports Világgazdaság Online after the article of Guardian.
