Waberer’s and Széchenyi István University have signed a strategic cooperation agreement
Waberer’s International Plc. and the Széchenyi István University in Győr have signed a strategic cooperation agreement, the Waberer’s Group told MTI on Wednesday.
They added that the aim of the parties is to contribute to the competitiveness of the Hungarian economy by combining the company’s industry experience and the university’s scientific and research capacity.
The partnership places great emphasis on practice-oriented training: Waberer’s experts will be involved in university education, helping students’ professional development as lecturers and consultants.
The agreement also covers, among other things, the launch of dual training courses and scholarship programs, strengthening the engineering career model.
In addition to all this, the parties will also jointly implement research and development projects, with particular attention to green logistics.
According to the plans, Waberer’s research base will be established in the university’s Győr Innovation Park, where they will focus on areas such as vehicle fleet optimization, intelligent route planning, data-driven decision support and the development of environmentally friendly logistics technologies.
Waberer’s and Széchenyi István University also aim to strengthen their international visibility together, for example by jointly appearing at scientific conferences and joining international research networks.
The Waberer’s Group is a leading road logistics company in Europe with its own fleet and the leading comprehensive logistics service provider in Hungary.
Waberer’s operates a modern fleet of 2,800 trucks and manages a modern warehouse of almost 250,000 square meters, making it the largest logistics capacity in the region.
Széchenyi István University, headquartered in Győr, but also present with its training and research in Mosonmagyaróvár, Zalaegerszeg and Budapest, is one of the most dynamically developing higher education institutions in Hungary. Its student community of approximately 15,000 consists of young people from almost 80 countries.
